This board is for waist to overhead waves, they range from 5'2" to 7'0". Ideal for surfers looking for something with a bit of float, manoeuvrability and speed in all conditions. Great for the heavier surfer in smaller weaker conditions but also versatile enough to handle bigger, more powerful waves. 

However, this is an ideal board for the lightweight guys in the smaller models from 5'2" to 5'10" where some will use fish/longer boards, this board has the same concept as the SX model but has a wider plan shape more akin to original 80's thruster. It also has a bump wing allowing a more parallel plan/rail line which gives more projection, also giving it a pivot point to give it better rail to rail transition with the full plan shape. Fin positions have been changed accordingly to maintain the high performance aspect. Some guys have used a two and a half fin setup (MRTFX) which gives the board loads of drive/projection without sacrificing any manoeuvrability.

This board has a 5 fin setup for maximum versatility. Therefore it can be used as a tri, quad or even all 5 fins. As a quad without losing the performance and control that you get from a thruster the speed and the flow of the board is increased. This is due to the re-design of our quad fin setup.

The full 5 fin will give you the quad feel but with added control. We would recommend a knubster style fin for this. This board comes with a square, swallow tail or round tail. The swallow and round tail is preferable.
