WEST COAST SURF COMP 10th/11th OCTOBER 2009

This years contest was held over 2 days and saw decent waves at times on both! Saturday was held at Porth Neigwl and Sunday at Porth Ceiriad. The standard of surfing was high with some excellent perfomances from several of the groms in the junior event. Many congratulations to the 3 winners (see results below).

The sellout Saturday night party was held at Abersoch Powerboat Club with musical entertainment provided by Joel "Chuckbuddies" Erith followed by the Abersoch Allstars Group of Chris & Leigh Hookes, Dan & Dom Williams and Jonny Robinson. £800 was raised for charity from the ticket money for the party and the entry fees and will be split equally between the Air Ambulance and Abersoch RNLI.

Many thanks to all helpers, competitors, sponsors, performers, photographers and spectators for helping to make it an excellent weekend. Special thanks to those who travelled long distances to help or take part and to the Powerboat Club for providing the evening venue free of charge and to the contest director, Phil Wood. A special mention must go to former Abersoch regular, Scrapper Dominguez.

We are planning on holding a Spring Open Contest - so keep an eye on the site for news of dates.
